Bad Dad Tour Pack Rack kit for 1997-2008 Touring Models
1) To begin installation, install the Tour Pack Rack Supports, one on each side of the motorcycle, as shown below using the factory bolts through the upper leg of the support, and one of the supplied lock washers and 5/16-18 x 1" bolts through the lower leg of the support.
2) Once the TP Rack Support Brackets are installed on the motorcycle, install the HD® 53684-96 (Not included with Kit) Docking Bushing using the supplied 3/8-16 hardware. The assembly order of these parts is shown below.
3) The finished rear assembly will look like this:
4) Install the supplied 5/16-18 hardware and HD® 53685-96 Docking Bushing into the bolt hole located behind the upper shock bolt at the rear of the motorcycle. Care must be taken that the correct hole is used. The GREEN circle in the picture below shows the correct location for this hardware assembly.
5) The correct assembly order of that hardware is shown below:
6) The TP Rack comes with studs pressed into it, and spring washers installed for the factory Thumb Locks, part numbers HD® 53509-95 (Left) and HD® 53508-95 (Right). Assemble to the TP Rack as shown below.
7) Install TP Rack onto motorcycle and rotate the thumb locks to lock the TP Rack.
8) TP Rack installed onto motorcycle frame. Finish assembly by mounting Tour Pack onto the TP Rack.
