Stretched Tank Install

Print Instructions

Bad Dad's stretched tank is currently the simplest way to stretch the tank on your custom Touring motorcycle. Our tank is simply a cover that installs over your existing tank and allows you to retain the functionality of all your stock parts, including your seat and dash.

Here's how we install our stretched tanks:

1) Now you can install your factory dash. Notice how the alignment holes still line up.
2) If installing this on a Road King, now is the best time to open up your gas gauge and gas cap holes. You can also order your Tank Shroud pre-cut for these holes by selecting the "Road King" option when ordering online or by request through your sales staff member. If Bad Dad has pre-cut these holes for you, now is the time to double-check and verify the fitment of the holes during your installation. Depending on the way you have positioned the Tank Shrouds, you may want to slightly enlarge or tweak the fuel openings if needed.
3) After fitting your dash, you are now ready to install the seat. The shroud is very "full" on the top which makes this shroud work with both stock and aftermarket seats. In order to get a nice fit, you will want to slowly open up the shroud until the seat fits in the pocket created by the two shroud halves.
4) This is how the shroud looks once the dash and seat are matched to the tank.
5) After reattaching the front bolt hole, the shroud can be glued to the tank.
6) Once it has adhered, install both the dash and seat.
