Project : 2007 Street Glide

Our Winter Project Street Glide is our last big project for the year 2006. The entire build of the bike will be featured in this section of the website as updates happen. Check back frequently to watch this brand new bike turn into a one-off custom.

Disassembly
After a couple of hours and a few hand tools all the factory sheet metal is stripped. The bike is now ready to be fitted with the new parts before paint.

Build Custom Street Glide Fender
A little grunt and a lot of hours. Here is the new rear fender with the brake/running light installed. The StreetGlide style light will go on closer to the completion of the project.

Custom Saddlebags with Flush Lighting
The flush mounted run, brake, and turn signals are now installed into the custom Bad Dad Saddlebags. As an added feature, the factory latch hole has been filled and the Bad Dad Factory Style Lids have been modified for a smooth look.

Ground Coat
With all major custom bodywork and flush mounting finished, the House of Kolor Orion Silver base has now been put down on the FLHX.

Reassembly and Graphics
Now that the Orion Silver base has been sprayed, the bike has been reassembled so that the graphics can be laid out.

Mid Coat
With the graphics laid out, the Kobalt Blue Mid Coat has now been sprayed.<br />Next we will wet sand and airbrush.

Airbrush applied for texture and depth.<br />Next we will wet sand again then pin stripe.









Pin Stripe
Scal Graphix pin stripe, Bad Dad clear.<br />Next we will wet sand; clear; wet sand with 1000, 2000, and 3000 grit paper; buff and reassemble.
