1. Start by removing the
seat, dash, and any emblems off the tank. |
 |
2. Next, fit one side of
the shroud over the tank. |
 |
3. Then, fit the other
side. |
  |
4. Next, drill out the
front tab bolt hole and insert the factory bolt. This bolt
will keep the shroud lined up on the tank. |
  |
5. Now you can install
your factory dash. Notice how the alignment holes still
line up. |
  |
6. If installing this on
a Road King, now is the best time to open up your gas gauge and
gas cap holes. |
  |
7. After fitting your
dash, you are now ready to install the seat. The shroud is
very "full" on the top which makes this shroud work with both
stock and aftermarket seats. In order to get a nice fit,
you will want to slowly open up the shroud until the seat fits
in the pocket created by the two shroud halves.. |
  |
8. This is how the
shroud looks once the dash and seat are matched to the tank. |
 |
9. After everything is
mocked up, you can remove the shroud and paint it. Once
painted, you are ready to attach the shroud to your factory
tank. While it's not
required, either epoxy or silicone can be used to adhere the
shroud to the tank. |
  |
10. After reattaching
the front bolt hole, the shroud can be glued to the tank. |
  |
11. Once it has adhered,
install both the dash and seat. |
|
12. Finished. |
